Personal Care Attendant - Westmoreland County
Overview
You will provide personal care and home support to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities in Westmoreland County, helping them maintain independence at home. You'll assist with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, meal prep, and medication reminders, with flexible morning, afternoon, or evening shifts. No experience is required; DON Services provides full training. Reliable transportation is essential as you travel to various consumer homes.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assist consumers with personal care: feeding, skin and mouth care, ambulation, bathing, hair care, grooming, shaving, and dressing.
- 2Support transfer activities, toileting, and incontinence care.
- 3Open medication bottles and provide verbal reminders for medication schedules.
- 4Handle food shopping and errands for consumers, ensuring preferences are met.
- 5Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- 6Perform laundry and light housekeeping to maintain a safe and sanitary home environment.
- 7Remove garbage and manage waste disposal.
- 8Document care provided and report any changes in consumer condition to the supervisor.
