Personal Banker Associate, Retail Banking & Sales
Overview
You will complete a 4-8 week on-boarding program covering operations and Sales & Service, then earn certification as a Retail Personal Banker I. You will use the consultative sales process to build customer profiles, identify financial needs, and cross-sell Retail products and services. You will work with assigned Business Partners in Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment to deliver holistic solutions. This role balances teller transactions with platform duties, focusing on acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships. You will own customer issues from first contact through resolution, ensuring a positive experience while adhering to risk protocols.
What You'll Do10
- 1Complete the 4-8 week training program covering operations, Sales & Service, and pass the certification to demonstrate readiness for the Personal Banker role.
- 2Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build thorough customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs.
- 3Maintain in-depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products, recommending solutions using our value proposition.
- 4Leverage CAMP and approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
- 5Drive cross-selling to existing customers and participate in outside sales activities like Membership Advantage presentations and community events.
- 6Partner with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, Investment) to refer customers and deliver holistic solutions.
- 7Process teller transactions accurately and handle platform duties, including opening and servicing the full range of Retail products.
- 8Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing.
- 9Meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, enhancing year-over-year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
- 10Maintain confidentiality, follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and adhere to policies to mitigate fraud and risk.
Requirements7
- 1College degree or equivalent work experience, with financial industry experience preferred.
- 2Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities aimed at acquiring new households and small business customers or cross-selling to existing ones.
- 3Must demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions for analyzing credit and financial information.
- 4Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in appearance and verbal/written communication.
- 5S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at time of employment.
- 6Willingness to travel within the affiliate for training and schedule flexibility.
- 7Must pass the program certification to be placed in the Personal Banker I role.
