Online Data Engineer Job at Home Depot
Overview
You will own the data infrastructure that captures and transforms customer data for Home Depot's online platforms. You will build and maintain ETL pipelines, data lakes, and APIs that power business insights. You will work with Python, Spark, Airflow, and Google BigQuery to process large datasets. This role stands out because you'll lead projects that directly improve online customer experience.
What You'll Do10
- 1Design and build ETL pipelines using Python and PySpark to process large datasets from multiple sources.
- 2Develop and maintain data warehouses and data lakes, including access APIs using Airflow and Google BigQuery.
- 3Write analytical SQL queries to extract and transform data for business insights.
- 4Optimize pipeline runtimes and reduce storage and slot consumption costs.
- 5Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
- 6Use React and JavaScript to build front-end tools for data QA and monitoring.
- 7Implement continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) for data pipelines with automation scripts.
- 8Define and manage metadata for ETL processes to ensure data quality and governance.
- 9Support pipelines in production, debugging issues and maintaining data integrity.
- 10Lead small analytics projects and mentor junior team members.
Requirements10
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
- 2Experience building and testing ETL jobs and pipelines.
- 3Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Python.
- 4Experience with batch and streaming pipelines.
- 5Ability to write analytical SQL queries.
- 6Ability to use JavaScript and front-end frameworks like React.
- 7Hands-on experience with PySpark, Airflow, and DataProc.
- 8Experience with Google BigQuery for data stitching and enrichment.
- 9Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- 10Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics) or equivalent work experience.
