What You'll Do10
- 1Build comprehensive OT evaluations focused on upper-extremity function and goal-directed outcomes
- 2Design and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function and reduce pain
- 3Deliver hands-on therapy interventions aligned with physician referrals and patient goals
- 4Fabricate splints and train patients on adaptive equipment as appropriate
- 5Educate patients on home exercise programs, task modification, and functional strategies
- 6Communicate consistently with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
- 7Monitor patient progress and adjust plans to maximize outcomes
- 8Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- 9Collaborate with clinicians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care
- 10Support and guide Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides as applicable
Requirements7
- 1Active (or in-progress) New York State Occupational Therapist license
- 2Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- 3Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics and/or hand therapy preferred
- 4Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing CHT will also be considered
- 5Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and patient-centered care skills
- 6Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-based clinical environment
- 7Commitment to professionalism, collaboration, and inclusive care
