Nurse Practitioner, C&P Disability Exams for Veterans
Overview
Conduct compensation and pension disability exams for U.S. Veterans on-site in Garden City, NY. You own the full exam process, from physical assessments to range of motion tests, documenting objective findings for VBA compliance. You join a trusted partner of the Department of Veterans Affairs, working with a small administrative team to ensure timely scheduling. This independent contractor role offers scheduling flexibility, including weekends, with full malpractice coverage and all VBA training provided. No treatment or ongoing care is involved, only objective evaluations.
What You'll Do7
- 1Conduct C&P disability exams for Veterans following VA/VBA protocols and requirements.
- 2Perform physical and clinical assessments, including range of motion tests.
- 3Provide objective evaluations only, with no treatment or ongoing care.
- 4Document findings accurately within designated reporting systems.
- 5Maintain professional standards, ensuring dignity and respect for all Veterans.
- 6Collaborate with AMP administrative staff to schedule and complete exams on time.
- 7Complete VBA training modules and stay current with guidelines.
Requirements7
- 13-5 years of clinical experience required.
- 2Active autonomous Nurse Practitioner (NP) license.
- 3Experience conducting C&P exams required.
- 4Availability 3 days per week minimum.
- 5Strong documentation and clinical skills.
- 6Prior experience with Veterans or the Veterans Administration highly preferred.
- 7Ability to work independently and manage flexible scheduling.
