Non-CDL Delivery Driver - PPE & Safety Equipment
Overview
Drive a light or medium-duty vehicle to deliver PPE and safety equipment to contractor work sites and industrial yards in the Austin area. You will load and unload trucks, secure cargo, and verify inventory against shipping papers. Operate a pick-up truck, flatbed, or box truck under 26,000 lbs GVW with occasional larger vehicles. Report to the branch manager and coordinate with warehouse staff. This role suits a driver who wants hands-on work with customer interaction and flexible scheduling.
What You'll Do9
- 1Drive light or medium-duty vehicles under 26,000 lbs GVW for deliveries and pickups, including pick-ups, flatbeds, and box trucks.
- 2Load and unload trucks or trailers, securing cargo with straps, chains, or tarps to meet state and federal regulations.
- 3Inspect vehicles daily: check gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure safe operation.
- 4Verify load contents against shipping papers and report any discrepancies to dispatch.
- 5Collect receipts and cash payments from deliveries; turn in paperwork daily.
- 6Maintain vehicle logs, cargo records, and billing statements as required.
- 7Navigate using maps and GPS to follow written or verbal directions.
- 8Report delays, accidents, or mechanical issues via mobile two-way radio to the branch.
- 9Assist warehouse staff with stocking, pulling orders, and inventory counts during non-driving hours.
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or GED.
- 21-2 years of delivery driving or related experience.
- 3Valid driver license without violations; meet company insurability standards.
- 4Class A CDL preferred but not required.
- 5Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally.
- 6Comfortable working outdoors in extreme heat or cold, and in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse.
- 7Flexible schedule to meet customer delivery windows.
- 8Willingness to wear PPE such as safety footwear and eye protection.
- 9Reside in or relocate to Round Rock, TX 78664.
