Network Architect, WAN & SASE
Overview
You will shape the firm's next-generation global network, security, and cloud connectivity strategy as part of the GTS GTI Technology Architecture team. Your designs will define target-state WAN, SASE, cloud exchange, automation, and observability architectures that enable secure, resilient, and scalable consumption of regional delivery centers and cloud platforms. Working with global technology, cyber, and cloud stakeholders, you will drive architectural standards, influence roadmaps, and guide engineering patterns. You will modernize legacy network designs into an agile, automated, policy-driven network-as-a-service capability, setting the direction for global data center exits and cloud-enabled delivery models.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build enterprise network architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, and design standards with global stakeholders, including BGP, MPLS, and SASE patterns.
- 2Design a network-as-a-service (NaaS) delivery model that standardizes resilient, scalable, automated, and policy-based Global WAN capabilities.
- 3Define high-level and low-level architecture patterns for IPsec, cloud exchange, and hybrid connectivity to support application migration into regional hubs and cloud environments.
- 4Establish infrastructure-as-code, automation, and orchestration patterns using Python, PowerShell, and CI/CD concepts to improve deployment consistency and operational handoff.
- 5Provide architectural direction for global data center exit and modernization initiatives, transitioning critical infrastructure to centralized and cloud-enabled models.
- 6Design secure connectivity into AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform over private and Internet transports using strategic Cloud Exchange points and consistent security controls.
- 7Own IPv6 dual-stack architecture strategy and adoption patterns across the global network, including address planning, routing, and security.
- 8Shape the enterprise IP address management and regional LIR strategy across ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, and AFRINIC for centralized governance and global scalability.
- 9Define topology modeling and architecture visualization practices using NetBrain to maintain authoritative views of current and target states.
- 10Provide design authority for telecommunications integration, carrier connectivity, and production network activation patterns.
- 11Convene cross-functional experts to advance a global Center of Excellence for network modernization and reusable design patterns.
Requirements10
- 15+ years designing global enterprise network architectures, including WAN, routing, segmentation, and cloud connectivity.
- 23-5 years working with advanced routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, and route policy in large-scale environments.
- 33+ years architecting cloud networks across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including private connectivity and landing zones.
- 42+ years implementing automation using Python, PowerShell, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- 52+ years with network automation and SDN concepts, including orchestration and service catalog design.
- 6Expertise in SASE, zero trust networking, and identity-aware access with platforms such as Cisco ISE.
- 7Proficiency with NetBrain or similar tools for network modeling and visualization.
- 8Experience with Infoblox or similar DDI platforms for IPAM, DNS, and DHCP management.
- 9Strong background in architecture governance, design review boards, and standards management.
- 10BS in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
