Mortgage Bank Sales Consultant, Community Lending
Overview
Own the mortgage origination process for Wells Fargo's Community Lending division, working from Orlando, Florida branches to connect customers with home loans. You will partner with branch leadership, mentor staff on mortgage products, and build relationships with local realtors and nonprofits. This role requires SAFE Act compliance and 2+ years of sales experience, offering the chance to impact diverse communities through specialized loan programs.
What You'll Do10
- 1Sit within assigned bank branches and originate mortgage loans, guiding customers through the application process using Wells Fargo systems.
- 2Collaborate with branch leadership and participate in huddles to align on mortgage goals and share market insights.
- 3Mentor and coach branch employees to increase their knowledge of mortgage products and processes.
- 4Conduct outbound calls to existing and prospective customers, introducing Wells Fargo mortgage programs and tracking activities.
- 5Assess customer needs, recommend suitable loan products, and process applications for mortgage transactions within guidelines.
- 6Maintain high client satisfaction by ensuring timely and proactive communication throughout the origination process.
- 7Complete Wells Fargo training offerings to stay current on products, policies, and underwriting requirements.
- 8Adhere to all policies, underwriting standards, and compliance requirements, including SAFE Act registration.
- 9Collaborate with fulfillment partners to meet client needs and ensure smooth loan closings.
- 10Stay informed of mortgage industry trends and build Wells Fargo's visibility in the assigned market.
Requirements13
- 12+ years of sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, military, or education.
- 22+ years of mortgage retail sales experience, preferably with purchase fundings in the last 12 months.
- 3Expertise in general lending products and mortgage industry practices.
- 4Established relationships with diverse realtor organizations and affordable lending nonprofits in the market.
- 5Experience with community loan products, including LMI mortgage solutions, lender paid assistance, and 3rd party assistance programs.
- 6FHA/VA and conventional loan experience is preferred.
- 7Proficiency in sales prospecting and generating referrals.
- 8Experience educating clients on various mortgage purchase programs.
- 9Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- 10Basic Microsoft Office skills and excellent communication abilities.
- 11Ability to coach, train, and mentor others.
- 12Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking proficiency preferred.
- 13Willingness to travel, reliable transportation, and ability to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.
