Overview
Yoh seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead NPI and sustaining engineering for advanced biotech platforms in Pleasanton. This is a contract position offering competitive rates. The role drives design ownership from prototype to production while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do11
- 1Support mechanical design efforts for NPI and sustaining projects including development verification validation and production transfer
- 2Partner with R&D manufacturing and service teams to move instruments from prototype to production
- 3Analyze field issues and drive reliability improvements through design updates and CAPA implementation
- 4Perform hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical optical and electromechanical subsystems
- 5Maintain engineering documentation such as BOMs ECOs and risk assessments in PLM/ERP systems
- 6Prepare technical reports to communicate findings across cross-functional groups
- 7Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with GD&T standards using SolidWorks
- 8Utilize Python for data analysis and automation tasks
- 9Collaborate with teams to resolve automation and liquid handling system challenges
- 10Apply DFM/DFA principles and maintain awareness of ISO 13485 and FDA regulations
- 11Conduct reliability testing and perform FMEA analyses
Requirements11
- 1SolidWorks proficiency and expert GD&T knowledge
- 25+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 3Experience with Python Jira Confluence Oracle ERP or Arena PLM
- 4Strong collaboration skills across R&D operations supply chain and service teams
- 5Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- 6Understanding of NPI processes pilot builds and design transfers
- 7Familiarity with optics motion systems or electromechanical assemblies
- 8Exposure to DFM/DFA ISO 13485 FDA-regulated environments
- 9Knowledge of MTBF MTTR and FMEA methodologies
- 10Ability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems
- 11Background in reliability testing and corrective action implementation
