Litigation Fellow NAACP Legal Defense Education Fund
Overview
Rising third-year law students judicial clerks and recent graduates invited to apply for LDF sponsorship for public interest fellowship projects beginning Fall 2027. Sponsorship enables submission of proposals to school-based fellowships. LDF is the nation’s first civil and human rights law organization founded in 1940 by Thurgood Marshall. Mission focuses on achieving racial justice equality and inclusive society through litigation public policy advocacy and public education in criminal justice economic justice education and political participation. Selected candidates must seek own funding and prepare proposals with staff guidance. Fellowship is one- or two-year contingent on school funding. LDF operates hybrid requiring two days in office weekly. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to racial justice strong research writing collaborative independent creative thinking skills.
What You'll Do11

- 3Own complex cases from discovery through resolution

- 5Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions
- 6Mentor junior staff and contribute fresh perspectives
- 7Maintain meticulous case documentation and analytics
- 8Present findings to senior leadership and external partners
- 9Develop training modules for peer educators
- 10Conduct stakeholder interviews and community needs assessments
- 11Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading diversity initiatives in legal settings
- 3CPC Card certification preferred
- 4BCBA credential valued
- 5AWS Certified relevant experience
- 6Demonstrated expertise in Python and React frameworks
- 7Proficiency with Kubernetes container orchestration
- 8Strong understanding of demand generation tactics
- 9Experience with SEO optimization techniques
- 10Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
