Lead Field Technician
Overview
Lead Field Technician in Colorado managing ground level operations for a major carrier swap project transitioning from Huawei to Samsung equipment. Focus on physical deployment, civil work, and heavy cable management.
What You'll Do9
- 1Decommission and remove existing Huawei ground equipment including cabinets base stations and BBUs
- 2Identify and disconnect legacy trunk lines hybrids and jumpers from conduits ice bridges and trays
- 3Lead heavy cable pulling of hybrid fiber power and ground cables through conduits trenches and ice bridges
- 4Install and mount Samsung cabinets BBUs power systems and battery backups per construction drawings
- 5Route cables using proper hangers strapping and supports ensuring correct bend radii grounding and weatherproof sealing
- 6Perform field terminations and conduct line testing including PIM Sweep and OTDR testing
- 7Capture closeout photographs documenting ground work cable routing grounding and color coding
- 8Oversee civil work including concrete pads grounding rings and conduits
- 9Drive project completion by managing crew and ensuring safe work practices
Requirements5
- 1Minimum 3-5 years telecom infrastructure civil field experience with 1-2 years foreman crew lead or lead technician role
- 2Certifications OSHA 30 CPR First Aid and RF Radiation Safety
- 3Proficiency in heavy cable management conduit installation mechanical assembly and line testing equipment
- 4Experience with Anritsu PIM testers fiber scopes and other testing tools
- 5Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather lift 75 lbs
