Overview

This role owns Latin instruction for grades 6-8 at Learn And Explore Academy, a Gifted & Talented middle school. You will design lessons that connect Latin to English vocabulary, history, and mythology. The part-time schedule supports a focused teaching load. This position offers a chance to shape classical studies for advanced students.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Teach Latin grammar, vocabulary, and translation to students in grades 6-8, adapting to their advanced level.
  • 2Develop weekly lesson plans that link Latin roots to English vocabulary and classical texts.
  • 3Design engaging activities that explore Roman history, mythology, and literature.
  • 4Assess student progress through quizzes and projects, then provide targeted feedback.
  • 5Maintain a disciplined yet lively classroom that fosters inquiry and discussion.

Requirements7

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Classics, Latin, Education, or related field
  • 21+ years teaching or tutoring Latin
