Lab Manager, Engineering Labs & Operations
Overview
You will coordinate engineering labs across multiple business units at our Santa Clara facility, serving as the central point for daily operations, asset management, and lab moves. You will work with engineering teams, Facilities, IT, Security, and EHS to ensure labs run smoothly and safely. This role stands out for its focus on hands-on coordination and cross-functional collaboration, directly impacting the efficiency of ongoing engineering projects.
What You'll Do8
- 1Coordinate daily lab operations across multiple business units, including scheduling, access control, and equipment availability.
- 2Manage lab asset inventory, from receipt to decommission, using Asset Tracking tools.
- 3Plan and execute lab moves, including equipment relocation, setup, and validation with engineering teams.
- 4Collaborate with Facilities and EHS to ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain lab certifications.
- 5Work with IT to maintain network connectivity and data security protocols in lab environments.
- 6Serve as the primary contact for lab incidents, from troubleshooting to escalation, ensuring minimal downtime.
- 7Support onboarding of new lab users, including training on lab processes and safety procedures.
- 8Drive continuous improvement in lab processes by documenting workflows and identifying bottlenecks.
Requirements7
- 13+ years managing engineering labs or similar technical environments.
- 2Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
- 3Proficiency in MS Office and Asset Management software.
- 4Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and lab safety standards.
- 5Experience coordinating with IT and Facilities for lab infrastructure projects.
- 6Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- 7Excellent communication and organizational skills for cross-functional coordination.
