Lab Assistant, healthcare operations
Overview
Own the specimen receipt, preparation, and data entry workflow in a high volume clinical setting. You will work mornings in Phoenix, supporting testing and maintaining equipment as part of a larger laboratory network. You’ll contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency across the bench. What You'll Do10
- 1Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
- 2Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- 3Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
- 4Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
- 5Troubleshoot specimen related issues
- 6Replenish test bench supplies as needed
- 7Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- 8Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
- 9Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards
- 10Work in a fast-paced production environment to meet turnaround times
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2One year or more of experience in the healthcare industry
- 3One year or more of experience in a medical clinical laboratory
- 4Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- 5Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- 6Ability to identify specimens
- 7Attention to detail and multitasking ability
- 8Ability to work overtime as needed
- 9Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- 10Pass a standardized color blindness test
