Overview
The Knowledge Management Analyst (KMA) leads the National Guard Bureau’s enterprise Knowledge Management Program by developing and optimizing the Knowledge Management System across 54 States Territories and the District of Columbia. This role drives decision making organizational learning and mission readiness through expertise in content governance metadata taxonomy and enterprise collaboration technologies.
What You'll Do11
- 1Design and support the National Guard Bureau Knowledge Management System aligning with KM governance business processes and collaboration requirements
- 2Develop content types metadata schemas taxonomy structures and workflow automation within the KMS
- 3Coordinate with Enterprise SharePoint Service Representatives and platform engineers to implement KM aligned technical solutions
- 4Facilitate ingestion review publication and lifecycle monitoring of documents applying standardized metadata taxonomy and retention attributes
- 5Conduct recurring content audits to validate accuracy relevance and policy alignment while supporting archival and disposition processes
- 6Lead knowledge capture activities such as interviews after action reviews and lessons learned sessions translating raw data into reusable knowledge products
- 7Promote KM best practices across directorates and mission partners providing guidance training and job aids for end users
- 8Support user adoption by serving as liaison between users SMEs and system administrators resolving issues and improving experience
- 9Monitor KMS usage metrics search analytics and content performance producing dashboards and reports for governance decisions
- 10Ensure data quality consistency across repositories and support AI readiness by structuring content for machine readable classification
- 11Assist with KM governance maturity assessments stakeholder engagement and curriculum development using LMS platforms
Requirements7
- 1Minimum five years experience applying enterprise Knowledge Management including lifecycle management architecture alignment metadata taxonomy application product development and stewardship
- 2Possess certification such as KM Institute Certified Knowledge Manager APQC Certified Knowledge Manager or US Army KM Qualification Course award
- 3BA or higher degree in Organizational Learning Library Science
- 4Basic proficiency in SharePoint Online 365 including lists information architecture and content lifecycle management
- 5Experience supporting KM governance stakeholder engagement and training using LMS platforms
- 6Knowledge of gathering KM business requirements and understanding NGB mission sets organizational structure and collaboration requirements
- 7Familiarity with content governance enterprise search or structured knowledge capture activities
