Kennywood Security Officer | Unarmed Park Safety Job
Overview
As a Kennywood Security Officer, you will own the physical safety of our historic park, protecting guests, team members, and property across 40+ attractions and seasonal events. You'll monitor surveillance, control access, and respond to incidents with a calm, problem-solving approach. What You'll Do8
- 1Oversee the physical safety and security of all park facilities, property, and people, including guests, team members, and vendors.
- 2Manage security incidents from detection to resolution, documenting each event and reporting to the security lead.
- 3Monitor live surveillance feeds and conduct periodic patrols to prevent and detect suspicious activity.
- 4Authorize and control access to restricted areas, verifying credentials and enforcing park policies.
- 5Maintain and review security records, identifying trends and anomalies to proactively address potential threats.
- 6Respond to emergencies, providing first aid or coordinating with local authorities as needed.
- 7Enforce park rules with a friendly demeanor, de-escalating conflicts and ensuring guest satisfaction.
- 8Collaborate with other departments during peak seasons to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Requirements9
- 1Must be at least 18 years of age.
- 2Hold a current Act 235 certification (unarmed).
- 3Demonstrate strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve questions and concerns.
- 4Communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- 5Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- 6Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- 7Stand for long periods and walk long distances within the park.
- 8Lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 30 pounds.
- 9Bend, squat, and reach above shoulders as required.
