Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter and Deficiency Repair Technician
Overview
FSS Technologies seeks a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter and Deficiency Repair Technician to install fire sprinkler systems and fix deficiencies at customer locations across Minnesota. This independent role applies journeyman-level expertise to ensure installations and repairs meet code and client expectations.
What You'll Do10
- 1Install, assemble, and modify commercial fire sprinkler systems following approved plans and NFPA standards
- 2Diagnose and repair deficiencies found during fire sprinkler inspections and testing
- 3Measure, cut, thread, and join pipe, fittings, valves, hangers, and sprinkler heads
- 4Read blueprints shop drawings and inspection reports to determine repair approaches
- 5Test inspect and adjust systems to verify proper operation after installations and repairs
- 6Coordinate with inspectors customers and project managers to schedule deficiency repairs
- 7Maintain detailed records of repairs parts used and time on site
- 8Follow all OSHA NFPA and company safety requirements
- 9Travel throughout Minnesota to perform installations repairs and service calls
- 10Communicate clearly with customers regarding completed repairs and recommendations
Requirements8
- 14+ years experience installing or repairing fire sprinkler systems or completion of a registered sprinkler fitter apprenticeship
- 2Active Minnesota Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Certificate issued by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety State Fire Marshal Division
- 3Active Minnesota Backflow Prevention Tester (BT) certification issued by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry requiring current ASSE 5110 certification
- 4Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- 5Strong working knowledge of NFPA 13 installation standards and NFPA 25 inspection testing and maintenance requirements
- 6Ability to troubleshoot sprinkler system deficiencies and determine effective repair solutions
- 7Skilled in pipefitting threading and related sprinkler installation repair techniques
- 8Capacity to interpret inspection reports deficiency lists and system drawings
