IT Helpdesk Analyst - McCorvey Sheet Metal Houston
Overview
You'll own end-user support for 250+ employees across McCorvey Sheet Metal's Houston sites, resolving hardware, software, and network issues daily. You'll work within the Technology team to deliver on-site, remote, and chat support using Active Directory and Office365 account management. This role stands out for its direct exposure to design-build operations and room for growth in a family-owned company. You'll handle everything from ChromeBooks to MacBooks, plus mobile device management and inventory tracking.
What You'll Do8
- 1Resolve employee technology issues through chat, phone, remote, and on-site support, including PCs, laptops, iPads, MacBooks, and Chromebooks hardware and software problems.
- 2Manage hardware and software deployment using device management systems and mobile device management, including imaging computers and verifying inventory.
- 3Prioritize and schedule trouble calls to meet service timelines, maintaining clear communication with users and the Technology team on progress.
- 4Assign or re-assign trouble tickets to appropriate departments when escalation is needed.
- 5Provide support for peripheral equipment such as printers, scanners, and cameras, and resolve wireless connectivity issues.
- 6Manage Active Directory and Office365 accounts for all employees, including provisioning and access changes.
- 7Set up and move printers, computers, and devices, including un-boxing and physical installation at workstations.
- 8Document solutions and maintain an organized work environment, participating in professional growth activities as needed.
Requirements9
- 12+ years of experience with network, device support, and administration preferred.
- 21-2 years of customer support experience for computer systems, preferably in a help desk or service desk role.
- 3Working knowledge of computer systems, networking, and operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
- 4Experience with Active Directory and Office365 account management.
- 5Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for a distance of 100 feet.
- 6Valid driver's license and ability to operate a van or pickup for travel up to 50 miles per day.
- 7Flexibility for after-hours emergencies and occasional extended hours for system upgrades or maintenance.
- 8Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor for interacting with coworkers and vendors.
- 9High school diploma or equivalent; additional IT certifications are a plus.
