Overview
Own and scale a microservices backend for a fast growing productivity SaaS startup with a hands on leadership approach. You will consolidate a microservices architecture, drive performance and reliability improvements, and power product growth through robust APIs and integrations. This role combines architecture leadership with writing production code daily in a small, highly capable team. The work stands out by shaping engineering direction while maintaining high security and reliability.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build and scale a microservices backend to support high growth and reliability goals
- 2Design and develop REST APIs for internal and external consumers with strong security
- 3Lead and implement integrations with third party services and external APIs
- 4Create internal tooling to streamline development and operations workflows
- 5Define software lifecycle processes and engineering best practices
- 6Proactively propose innovative backend features aligned with product goals
- 7Occasionally engage with customers to triage and reproduce bugs
Requirements10
- 111+ years of professional backend development experience (minimum 6 years considered for exceptional profiles)
- 2Strong hands on proficiency in Go and Node.js ; PHP familiarity is a bonus
- 3Proven experience building and consuming REST APIs with OAuth2 authentication
- 4Deep experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
- 5Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases and caching systems
- 6Proficiency with Unix-based systems, Docker, and Kubernetes
- 7Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or equivalent)
- 8Experience scaling infrastructure and implementing monitoring and logging solutions
- 9Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and software design
- 10Proficient with Git version control
