Golang Developer, Merchant Network Payments
Overview
You will own the architecture and delivery of payment APIs and microservices that process millions of transactions for merchant networks. Your primary stack is Go for backend services, with REST and gRPC for API contracts, and Kafka for event streaming. You will collaborate with the platform team on AWS infrastructure and Docker containerization. This long-term hybrid contract in Phoenix focuses on scaling transaction throughput and ensuring low-latency processing.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build Go microservices that handle merchant payment transactions with sub-second latency.
- 2Design REST and gRPC APIs to onboard new merchants and process settlements.
- 3Integrate with Kafka to stream payment events between services for real-time processing.
- 4Refactor and scale existing payment processing logic to support 2x transaction volume.
- 5Debug transaction failures and performance bottlenecks in Go and PostgreSQL.
- 6Drive code reviews and enforce best practices for error handling and logging.
- 7Document service interfaces and operational runbooks for on-call support.
Requirements7
- 15+ years building production-grade services in Go.
- 23+ years in merchant network payments or payment processing domains.
- 32+ years designing and scaling RESTful and gRPC APIs for high-throughput systems.
- 4Hands-on with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms in a payment context.
- 5Experience with PostgreSQL and data modeling for transactional data.
- 6Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized deployments.
- 7Knowledge of PCI DSS compliance and secure handling of payment data.
