General Labor, 1st Shift - Manufacturing & Assembly
Overview
General Labor role focused on preparing and assembling window displays for shipment at a midwest shop. You will perform repetitive tasks that rotate to keep daily work varied. You will work with a team to lift items over 50 lbs and handle basic woodworking tools in a shop environment. This role offers a contract to hire path with steady hours and room to grow in a collaborative setting.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build display units for shipment using cordless drills, screw guns, bolting, and hand tools
- 2Assemble window displays and perform minor painting and touch ups for shipment readiness
- 3Prepare and clean display windows using cleaning agents
- 4Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed
- 5Collaborate in small teams (7-8 people) for lifting and heavy items when required
- 6Measure and cut materials with tape measures and saws to specifications
- 7Support quality control with attention to detail to ensure displays meet standards
- 8Maintain a clean, organized shop environment
- 9Follow PPE requirements and safety guidelines
- 10Coordinate with team to complete tasks within standard shift hours
Requirements10
- 1Entry-level candidates welcome with familiarity of cordless screwdrivers or similar tools
- 2Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and more with team assistance
- 36+ months of shop experience, preferably in a wood-type shop
- 4Comfortable working in a shop environment
- 5Willingness to commit to a 3-6 month contract
- 6Basic knowledge of tools such as cordless drills, saws, nail guns, and wrenches
- 7Standard working hours 6am to 2:30pm with potential for overtime to 4:30pm
- 8Second shift 2:30pm to 1am Monday-Thursday with Friday hours available
- 9Onsite, contract to hire position in Afton, MN
- 10Eligible for company benefits if applicable and per policy
