Furniture Delivery Driver & Installer
Overview
You will own end-to-end furniture delivery and assembly for GMB Trucking LLC in the Raleigh area, handling multiple stops per day. You will work directly with customers to set up desks, chairs, and shelving units, ensuring every piece functions correctly. This role stands out for its independence: you drive solo, manage your route, and troubleshoot on the spot.
What You'll Do7
- 1Drive a delivery truck to residential and commercial locations across Raleigh and surrounding areas, following the daily route schedule.
- 2Load and unload furniture items, securing them to prevent damage during transit, and inspect each piece before delivery.
- 3Assemble furniture on-site using power tools and hand tools, adjusting parts to ensure proper fit and function.
- 4Interact with customers professionally, confirming delivery details, obtaining signatures, and addressing any immediate concerns.
- 5Follow safety protocols for lifting, carrying, and operating the vehicle, maintaining compliance with OSHA standards.
- 6Document completed deliveries in the company app, including photos and notes on any issues, and report delays or exceptions.
- 7Perform routine vehicle checks, reporting maintenance needs to dispatch to keep the fleet operational.
Requirements7
- 12+ years of experience in furniture delivery or assembly, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- 2Proven ability to assemble IKEA, Ashley, or Wayfair furniture using Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, and power drills.
- 3Physical capability to lift and move items weighing up to 100 pounds, with frequent bending and standing.
- 4Strong customer service skills, with the ability to resolve complaints and maintain a positive demeanor under pressure.
- 5High school diploma or equivalent; certification in CPR or First Aid is a plus.
- 6Comfort using mobile apps for route navigation and delivery confirmation, such as Google Maps and Route4Me.
- 7Flexibility to work weekday shifts, including early mornings and occasional Saturdays, with overtime during peak seasons.
