Freight Flow Associate Job in Shakopee, MN | Sam's Club
Overview
You will own the flow of freight from delivery to sales floor at a high-volume Sam's Club location, using forklifts and pallet jacks to move merchandise safely and efficiently. Working with a team of associates and managers, you will unload trucks, stock shelves, and maintain inventory accuracy. This role demands 90 days of prior forklift experience and a Forklift Certification, plus a focus on safety and member service. You'll also handle club pick up orders and use technology to track inventory and resolve issues, making a direct impact on daily operations.
What You'll Do10
- 1Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to safely pick up, move, place, and position merchandise pallets throughout the facility.
- 2Receive, stock, and organize merchandise from distribution centers and suppliers, using inventory management systems to track flow and correct shelf capacities.
- 3Maintain safety standards by conducting safety sweeps, following forklift spotting procedures, and handling hazardous materials per company policy.
- 4Complete club pick up orders by picking products, staging them accurately, and auditing orders to ensure timely fulfillment.
- 5Zone the sales floor, stock and rotate merchandise, remove damaged or out-of-date goods, and set up promotional displays to keep aisles clean and organized.
- 6Monitor the area for shrink risks, security issues, and safety hazards, reporting problems to management and taking corrective action.
- 7Support members by acknowledging their needs, guiding them on self-service technology, and assisting with purchases or locating merchandise.
- 8Collaborate with team members and managers to prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and adapt to changing workload and priorities.
- 9Use technology to identify members needing help, model tech usage, and resolve issues with products or services.
- 10Follow all company policies and procedures, including Open Door Policy, and uphold integrity and ethical standards in every task.

- 190 days of prior experience with Forklift Certification.
- 2Ability to safely utilize pallet jacks.
- 3Must be 18 years of age or older.
- 4Preferred: Customer Service Experience or Retail Experience.
- 5Preferred: Experience supervising a team.
