Food Service Worker, University Dining
Overview
You will prepare, present, and serve food at Rowan University, impacting thousands of students daily. You will join the Gourmet Dining and Chartwells Higher Education teams, serving fresh, local meals across 270 campuses. This role offers a fixed pay rate of $17.85 per hour and internal referral bonuses. You will own food prep, sanitation, and customer service in a fast-paced collegiate environment.
What You'll Do10
- 1Prep fruits and vegetables by washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding, following safety standards.
- 2Weigh and measure ingredients to meet portion control and recipe specifications.
- 3Carry pans, kettles, and trays between workstations, stoves, and refrigerators per safety guidelines.
- 4Store food using proper wrapping, dating, and rotation procedures to ensure food safety.
- 5Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain sanitation compliance.
- 6Distribute supplies, utensils, and portable equipment to service stations.
- 7Serve customers with a friendly demeanor, following outlined steps of service.
- 8Resolve customer concerns and relay relevant information to supervisors.
- 9Ensure compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
- 10Adhere to all sanitation and safety requirements, including HACCP standards.
Requirements8
- 11+ year of prior food prep experience preferred.
- 21+ year of customer service experience preferred.
- 31+ year of mobile ordering experience preferred.
- 4Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- 5Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- 6Must pass background screening as required by university policy.
- 7ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 8High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
