Fleet Tactical Manager, Aircraft Maintenance
Overview
You lead a team of Maintenance Controllers to monitor and manage aircraft maintenance for an assigned fleet at NetJets. You coordinate directly with OEMs and third-party suppliers to ensure all work meets FAA regulations and company standards. This role reports to the Director of Maintenance and carries full authority in maintenance oversight. You act with full accountability for your fleet, driving timely and compliant repairs across a global private aviation operation.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead a team of Maintenance Controllers to track and direct maintenance progress across your assigned fleet.
- 2Coordinate with OEMs and third-party maintenance vendors to schedule and oversee repairs and alterations.
- 3Ensure all maintenance complies with FAA regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and NetJets objectives.
- 4Act with full authority in all maintenance decisions for your fleet, from initial triage to final sign-off.
- 5Drive first 90-day wins by auditing current maintenance workflows and implementing gaps in oversight.
- 6Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance to align fleet priorities with company safety and reliability goals.
- 7Resolve escalated maintenance issues by troubleshooting root causes and coordinating rapid resolution.
- 8Document all maintenance actions and decisions to maintain audit trails and regulatory compliance.
Requirements8
- 16-8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance operations, with 4-6 years in a maintenance control environment.
- 22+ years of leadership experience in an aircraft maintenance control setting.
- 3FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required.
- 4Strong knowledge of turbine-powered aircraft systems.
- 5Personnel management experience, including scheduling and performance oversight.
- 6Working knowledge of MS Office applications for reporting and coordination.
- 7Excellent written and oral communication skills for clear direction and vendor management.
- 8Ability to read, write, and understand English at a professional level.
