ESL Adjunct Instructor Position Chicago
Overview
The Adjunct ESL Instructor will create engaging classroom environments suitable for students of all levels while assessing progress through assignments quizzes and exams. This role requires delivering lessons aligned with course goals and maintaining accurate student records. What You'll Do11
- 1Design and deliver lesson plans posted on D2L/Brightspace pages
- 2Conduct continuous evaluation of curriculum instructional materials and classroom activities
- 3Maintain accurate student records including grades and attendance
- 4Collaborate with other instructors and attend in-service meetings
- 5Provide feedback on course curriculum methods and materials
- 6Teach fewer than 30 hours weekly
- 7Complete two hours of professional development per term with documentation
- 8Prepare sessions and post agendas on course platforms
- 9Assess student progress through required assignments quizzes and exams
- 10Deliver beginner to advanced English instruction using communicative approaches
- 11Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor’s degree in TESOL linguistics or related field with TESOL/TESL/TEFL or CELTA certification
- 2At least two years teaching ESL to adults
- 3Mastery of Python AWS React Kubernetes CPC Card BCBA AWS Certified
- 4Experience with Spark Airflow
- 5Ability to analyze curriculum effectiveness using data
- 6Strong verbal interpersonal skills and proven writing ability
- 7Capacity to work at a fast pace with minimal supervision
- 8Proven translation of pedagogy into practice
- 9Excellent collaboration and organizational skills
- 10Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Salary Insight
$58 - $62k per year
