Engineering Manager Seattle Remote Chicago
Overview
We seek an experienced Manager, Engineering to lead day-to-day engineering delivery across active engagements within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. This senior client-facing leadership role owns team performance technical execution and release coordination while staying hands-on with design technical problem solving and delivery oversight. The Manager, Engineering operates as a player-coach setting technical direction ensuring delivery quality and providing leadership across engineering teams. This is a primarily remote position with preference for locations near the Lisle office.
What You'll Do14
- 1Approves Technical Design Documents and leads design reviews to ensure accuracy alignment to standards and performance considerations
- 2Owns code review and pull request approval standards ensuring quality gates are enforced across development and integration work
- 3Oversees engineering delivery across X++ development integrations data entities SQL Server Reporting Services and Electronic Reporting and technical unit testing
- 4Drives technical decisions across architecture platform design independent software vendor solutions and performance optimization and system scalability in partnership with Director Technology and Technical Architect
- 5Remains hands-on in complex design code review and technical problem solving as a player-coach
- 6Leads engineering team performance including coaching mentorship and career development
- 7Sets priorities work assignments and execution sequencing across Lead Senior and Application Engineers
- 8Owns hiring onboarding and capability development across the engineering team
- 9Identifies skill gaps and builds technical capability to support delivery and long-term growth
- 10Provides ongoing feedback guidance and performance management to team members
- 11Owns production issue escalation root cause analysis and support performance
- 12Manages enhancement backlog planning and delivery in partnership with functional and delivery leadership
- 13Leads release planning including platform updates and One Version upgrade cycles
- 14Ensures coordination across build validation and release activities to enable stable and predictable delivery
Requirements5
- 17+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management or related enterprise ERP platforms
- 2Strong experience in engineering delivery including development integrations and technical architecture
- 3Proven ability to lead engineering teams in a consulting or professional services environment
- 4Deep understanding of X++ integrations reporting and technical design practices
- 5Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
Salary Insight
$130 - $175k per year
