EKS/Kubernetes Engineer, DRAM Optimization
Overview
EKS/Kubernetes Engineer will own DRAM memory optimization across AWS environments serving production workloads. Focus on reducing memory waste in Kubernetes clusters by right-sizing resource requests and limits. Collaborate with platform and SRE teams to embed memory profiling into CI/CD. This role directly impacts infrastructure cost and performance at scale.
What You'll Do6
- 1Analyze Kubernetes cluster memory usage and identify DRAM waste patterns.
- 2Implement Vertical Pod Autoscaler (VPA) and Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) to right-size pod resources.
- 3Manage EKS node groups and autoscaling to align capacity with actual memory demand.
- 4Develop memory profiling and validation scripts to verify optimizations in production.
- 5Collaborate with SRE to enforce resource quotas and limits across namespaces.
- 6Drive adoption of memory-efficient application configurations and Kubernetes best practices.
Requirements6
- 13+ years hands-on AWS EKS and Kubernetes experience.
- 22+ years managing EKS clusters, node groups, and autoscaling.
- 3Deep knowledge of Kubernetes resource requests, limits, and quality of service (QoS) classes.
- 4Hands-on experience with VPA and HPA for resource optimization.
- 5Experience with memory profiling tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
- 6Strong Linux system administration and performance tuning skills.
