Distribution Designer, Utilities & AutoCAD
Overview
Own the design of electric street lighting and distribution systems for a high-volume utilities team in the Seattle area. What You'll Do8
- 1Design electric street lighting layouts and distribution systems using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D 2021.
- 2Visit field sites across Washington to verify conditions and collect data for design projects.
- 3Interpret permits, utility standards, and construction documents to produce accurate plans.
- 4Prepare cost estimates and project analyses using WinEst Pro Plus.
- 5Route and delegate workload to project managers, ensuring timely completion of high-volume deliverables.
- 6Support PUD clients by coordinating street light execution and maintenance with project managers.
- 7Analyze work orders and construction packages to identify design solutions and potential issues.
- 8Communicate with internal teams daily to maintain project alignment and resolve design questions.
Requirements8
- 1Associate degree in Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 22-3 years of CAD experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD Map 3D 2021.
- 3Experience preparing cost estimates using WinEst Pro Plus software.
- 4Foundation in civil, electrical, or related engineering disciplines.
- 5Experience in utilities such as electric, gas, water/sewer, or overhead/underground systems.
- 6Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and permits.
- 7Strong communication and organizational skills.
- 8Valid Washington driver's license with a clean driving record.
