Overview
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Beyond Home Health Care, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities to lead independent, community-based lives under New Jersey’s Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). You will implement Individualized Service Plans (ISPs), provide daily living assistance, and foster social inclusion. What You'll Do7
- 1Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility to promote independence.
- 2Implement and adhere to Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) to align support with clients' personal goals.
- 3Provide companionship and emotional support, encouraging social inclusion and community integration.
- 4Administer medications and monitor client health as per guidelines, ensuring safety and compliance.
- 5Support clients with transportation to appointments and community outings, using a reliable vehicle.
- 6Maintain accurate care documentation and follow behavioral support plans to track progress and ensure quality.
- 7Collaborate with the care team to adapt support strategies based on client needs and ISP updates.
Requirements5
- 1High School Diploma or GED.
- 2At least 18 years of age.
- 3Prior experience with developmental disabilities (strongly preferred).
- 4Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- 5Required training certifications such as CPR and First Aid to be completed through approved providers.
