Customer Service Associate, Retail Sales & Support
Overview
As a Customer Service Associate at Family Dollar, you own the storefront experience: greeting customers, handling transactions, and keeping the sales floor stocked and clean. You work directly with a tight-knit team in a high-traffic Detroit location, reporting to the store manager. This role stands out because you get hands-on retail operations training while delivering everyday essentials to your community.
What You'll Do6
- 1Greet every customer entering the store and answer product questions with confident recommendations.
- 2Ring up sales on the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit payments accurately.
- 3Secure cash drawers and company assets by following cash handling procedures.
- 4Stock shelves, recover misplaced merchandise, and unload trucks to keep the store fully stocked.
- 5Sweep, mop, clean restrooms, and empty trash to maintain a spotless store environment.
- 6Follow operational documents and safety guidelines to meet productivity standards.
Requirements5
- 1High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store.
- 3Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height and handle frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- 4Excellent customer service, relationship management, and communication skills.
- 5Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
