You will own meal preparation for up to 200 residents at Maravilla Scottsdale, a premier senior living community. Working under the Head Chef, you'll cook from scratch using fresh ingredients while adhering to special diets. Your kitchen runs on HACCP standards and ServSafe practices. What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare meals for up to 200 residents, following standardized recipes and accommodating special dietary needs.
- 2Assist the lead cook in producing all menu items, from soups to entrees, ensuring consistency and quality.
- 3Follow HACCP guidelines to maintain food safety, logging temperatures and handling leftovers correctly.
- 4Maintain a spotless kitchen, sanitizing surfaces and equipment between tasks and at shift end.
- 5Operate and clean commercial equipment like Vulcan ovens and Robot Coupe food processors safely.
- 6Monitor inventory of ingredients and flag shortages to the sous chef before they impact service.
- 7Plate dishes for restaurant-style service during peak meal times, ensuring visual appeal.
- 8Train new kitchen staff on portion control and safe knife handling techniques.
Requirements7
- 11+ years of line cook or prep cook experience in a high-volume kitchen, though formal training counts.
- 2High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 3Current Food Handler Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- 4Familiarity with HACCP principles and temperature logging.
- 5Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds.
- 6Comfortable using commercial cooking equipment including flat-top grills and convection ovens.
- 7Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
