Cook, Long-Term Care Facility | HCSG
Overview
As a Cook with Healthcare Services Group, you own meal preparation for residents at a long-term care facility, serving 50-100 meals per shift. You'll work with a dedicated culinary team, reporting to the Food Service Director, and collaborate with nursing staff to meet dietary needs. What You'll Do6
- 1Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and recipes, ensuring portion control and dietary compliance.
- 2Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet HCSG standards, plating each dish with care.
- 3Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a clean and orderly kitchen to pass ServSafe audits.
- 4Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies, tracking stock levels to prevent shortages.
- 5Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service during meal service.
- 6Complete all other duties as assigned, including station setup and break down.
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent.
- 21-2 years experience as a cook or in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.
- 3Ability to follow recipes and dietary restrictions, including low-sodium and texture-modified diets.
- 4Maintain a positive attitude and communicate effectively with building occupants, administration, and HCSG leadership.
- 5Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies, providing proof of vaccination.
- 6Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- 7Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
- 8Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification required based on State/County law.
- 9Residency within the service area required.
