Construction Laborer - Plumbing Support
Overview
You will support Plumbers and Apprentice Plumbers in installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems on AMPAM construction projects across Northern California. Reporting to the Foreman, you prepare job sites, move materials, and handle general construction support. You work with PVC, copper, and cast iron piping on residential and commercial builds. This role offers a path into the plumbing trade with hands-on experience and paid training.
What You'll Do8
- 1Prepare and organize work sites for construction, including cleaning debris and removing hazardous materials.
- 2Dig trenches and pour concrete under Foreman direction for sewer and water line installations.
- 3Assist in installing PVC, copper, and cast iron sewer pipes, drains, and related plumbing components.
- 4Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas; load and unload trucks.
- 5Align components and assist with layout per blueprints and Foreman instructions.
- 6Clean and maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition.
- 7Follow all AMPAM safety policies and Cal/OSHA regulations; maintain a clean and organized job site.
- 8Communicate clearly with the Foreman and crew; respond promptly to instructions and requests.
Requirements9
- 16 months to 1 year of residential or commercial construction experience, preferably in plumbing.
- 2High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- 4Ability to read and interpret basic written information and blueprints.
- 5Physically capable of lifting and moving up to 30 pounds; comfortable with standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- 6Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to project sites.
- 7OSHA 10-Hour Construction certificate preferred.
- 8First Aid / CPR certificate preferred.
- 9Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
Salary Insight
$40 - $58k per year
