Compliance Operations Specialist, Regulatory & CFTC
Overview
You will own compliance monitoring and testing across Kalshi's regulated exchange and clearinghouse operations, managing CFTC obligations at scale. You will join a small team building core compliance infrastructure for the fastest growing financial market in America. You will administer policies, training, and regulatory reporting, and partner with Legal, Product, and Operations to embed controls. This role stands out because you will directly shape Kalshi's compliance program as it scales from startup to industry leader.
What You'll Do8
- 1Own ongoing compliance monitoring and testing across DCM and DCO regulatory obligations, documenting findings and driving remediation.
- 2Administer compliance policies and procedures, including version control, periodic reviews, and governance tracking.
- 3Build and manage employee compliance training, certification, and attestation processes with Vanta.
- 4Review marketing, partnership, and affiliate materials for compliance with policies and CFTC requirements.
- 5Support audit trail reviews, transaction and regulatory reporting, and recordkeeping under CFTC frameworks.
- 6Partner with Legal, Product, and Operations to translate regulatory requirements into practical controls.
- 7Track compliance gaps and remediation workstreams, ensuring resolution on time.
- 8Support CFTC examinations, Rule Enforcement Reviews, and internal audits.
Requirements9
- 14-7 years in compliance, regulatory operations, or risk within a regulated exchange, clearinghouse, or financial institution.
- 2Experience with CFTC-regulated entities and familiarity with DCM or DCO Core Principles strongly preferred.
- 3Proven track record in compliance monitoring and testing, policy administration, and regulatory reporting.
- 4Strong writing skills with ability to draft and maintain policies and procedures.
- 5Highly organized with attention to detail, managing recurring processes and deadlines.
- 6Comfortable with high volumes of detail-oriented work without sacrificing accuracy.
- 7Strong judgment and curiosity to investigate gaps and understand business operations.
- 8Ability to collaborate with business teams to implement practical compliance processes.
- 9Genuine interest in building a career in financial services compliance.
