Overview
As Clinical Director, you own clinical quality, compliance, and staff supervision across Healthstar's behavioral health programs in Charlotte. You ensure CST services meet North Carolina Medicaid and managed-care requirements while supporting adults with substance-use and co-occurring conditions. You lead a team of therapists, CST staff, and Community Navigators, providing direct supervision and clinical consultation. Your role includes direct client assessments and therapy, with limited on-call duties. This position offers flexible work-from-home options and the chance to shape person-centered, recovery-oriented care.
What You'll Do9
- 1Lead clinical program development and implementation, ensuring person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented care across all services.
- 2Oversee CST compliance with North Carolina service definitions, Medicaid requirements, and clinical standards, including high-risk case reviews.
- 3Provide clinical supervision to therapists, CST staff, Qualified Professionals, and interns, conducting individual and group sessions.
- 4Review clinical documentation for accuracy, medical necessity, and regulatory compliance, including assessments, plans, and progress notes.
- 5Direct crisis response and risk management, guiding suicide-risk assessments, safety planning, and coordination with higher levels of care.
- 6Deliver direct clinical services, including comprehensive assessments and individual, family, or group therapy within your licensure.
- 7Drive staff training and development, identifying gaps and coordinating continuing education to ensure clinical excellence.
- 8Collaborate with external partners such as hospitals, detox programs, and managed-care organizations to support client transitions.
- 9Monitor service outcomes and client engagement, implementing corrective-action plans when clinical or operational issues arise.
Requirements9
- 1Active, unrestricted LCSW or LCMHC license in North Carolina.
- 2Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field.
- 32+ years direct experience with a North Carolina Community Support Team (CST).
- 4Experience serving individuals with substance-use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- 53+ years supervising clinical staff or leading clinical programs.
- 6Knowledge of North Carolina Medicaid behavioral health services and medical-necessity standards.
- 7Proficiency with electronic health records and standard workplace technology.
- 8Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within the service area.
- 9Ability to pass background checks, exclusion screenings, and credentialing requirements.
