CDL A Driver Express Employment
Overview
The position owns loading and delivery of bulk and packaged goods to Portland metro customers. Responsibilities include safely operating trucks and trailers maintaining CDL compliance performing inspections and emergency repairs participating in Lean programs. This role differs by focusing on industrial truck driving and specialized cargo handling.
What You'll Do9
- 1Safely operate a variety of truck transmission and trailer setups
- 2Maintain written driver logs as required by state and DOT regulations
- 3Complete daily equipment inspections including fluid levels tire wear and pressure
- 4Perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires installing chains and light bulbs
- 5Use blocks straps and other materials to secure cargo prior to transit
- 6Operate equipment to load and unload vehicles
- 7Keep vehicle clean inside and out
- 8Participate in GDPM's Lean 5S and Kaizen programs
- 9Other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements9
- 1Valid CDL with doubles endorsement or ability to obtain
- 2Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
- 3Map reading and route planning experience
- 4High level of composure and good stress management
- 5At least 2 years industrial truck driving experience
- 6Manual Transmission Endorsement
- 7Doubles Endorsement or ability to obtain knowledge of pneumatics
- 8High school diploma or equivalent
- 9Clean driving record
