Campus Electrician, Events & Maintenance | Denver
Overview
You will own event power distribution and electrical infrastructure for the 250-acre National Western Center campus, ensuring every event runs on safe, reliable power. You will join a small, nimble team that handles temporary power set and strike, plus ongoing maintenance and inspections across 0-480V systems. This role blends hands-on electrical work with proactive problem-solving in a high-visibility, year-round events hub. You will directly support the Stockyards Event Center and help make NWC a top Denver event destination.
What You'll Do8
- 1Set up and strike temporary power distribution for all events, coordinating exhibitor electrical orders and equipment.
- 2Diagnose and repair electrical equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, and panels across the campus.
- 3Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems, ensuring code compliance and safety.
- 4Assist with fire alarm and life safety systems, including panels, detectors, and related devices.
- 5Track and organize all electrical equipment and supplies, maintaining accurate asset records.
- 6Work with systems from 0-480V, handling both indoor and outdoor event environments.
- 7Collaborate with event planners and vendors to plan power needs for each event.
- 8Perform maintenance tasks on lighting, outlets, and other electrical components to keep campus facilities operational.
Requirements10
- 1Colorado Journeyman License with 1-2 years experience, and must stay current.
- 2High School Diploma or GED; associate degree or technical certification in Building Systems or related field preferred.
- 3Knowledge of national and local building codes and electrical safety regulations.
- 4Forklift and Scissor Lift Certification or ability to acquire within 60 days.
- 5Experience with low voltage and lighting control systems is a plus.
- 6Strong troubleshooting skills for building system issues, with a focus on safety.
- 7Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
- 8Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- 9Effective written and verbal communication for coordinating with team and event stakeholders.
- 10Experience in a large multi-building campus environment, preferably public or commercial.
