What You'll Do8
- 1Assist customers in selecting rods, reels, lures, and live bait, matching gear to their fishing plan.
- 2Offer advice on local fishing conditions and tackle recommendations based on current seasons and species.
- 3Stock and organize merchandise, ensuring shelves are full and product displays are inviting.
- 4Operate the register and handle basic transactions with accuracy and speed.
- 5Maintain a clean, welcoming store environment, including sweeping, dusting, and organizing bait coolers.
- 6Restock live bait containers and manage inventory of fishing tackle to meet customer demand.
- 7Build rapport with repeat customers, remembering their preferences and suggesting complementary gear.
- 8Assist with receiving shipments and verifying counts against packing slips.
Requirements7
- 11+ year of experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in an outdoors or sporting goods store.
- 2Demonstrated knowledge of fishing gear, tackle, and local fish species in the Tampa Bay area.
- 3Comfortable handling live bait such as shrimp, minnows, and worms.
- 4Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs to move inventory and stock shelves.
- 5Friendly, approachable, and customer-service oriented with a knack for making people feel welcome.
- 6Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- 7Basic math and cash handling skills for accurate register operations.
