Backend Software Engineer, Rust & Crypto Trading
Overview
Lead the development of high-performance backend systems for a real-time crypto trading platform. You will own asynchronous Rust services, risk engines, and state machines that power trading, settlement, and risk operations at a capital-efficient scale. You will collaborate with a tight-knit in-person team in New York to ship reliable, low-latency infrastructure. What You'll Do5
- 1Build and maintain Rust services that power risk, liquidation, and settlement engines with millisecond-level responsiveness
- 2Design blockchain state machines and coordination mechanisms for cross-venue trading and risk operations
- 3Develop REST and WebSocket APIs that deliver real-time market access and trading interfaces
- 4Implement and optimize asynchronous workflows and data pipelines across distributed components
- 5Process live market data streams and coordinate actions across venues using WebSocket streams and time-sensitive workflows
Requirements5
- 12–4 years of backend software engineering experience with strong Rust expertise
- 2Experience building high-performance backend services and APIs in Rust
- 3Knowledge of distributed systems, asynchronous programming, and consensus mechanisms
- 4Familiarity with real-time data processing, WebSocket streams, and REST APIs
- 5Ability to thrive in an on-site, collaborative environment in New York City
