AWS Java ETL Developer - Data Modernization
Overview
You will own data modernization on AWS, migrating legacy ETL pipelines to cloud-native architecture. You will join a team of engineers and data architects, building scalable data solutions with Java, Spring, and Hibernate. This role focuses on refactoring and cloud-native development, with direct impact on our data platform's performance and reliability.
What You'll Do8
- 1Design and build cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Glue, and Athena.
- 2Refactor existing ETL jobs, migrating from on-premise to AWS with minimal downtime.
- 3Develop and maintain Java microservices using Spring framework and Hibernate for data access.
- 4Integrate data sources with RDS, API Gateway, and EC2 to ensure secure and efficient data flow.
- 5Automate infrastructure provisioning with CloudFormation or Terraform for repeatable deployments.
- 6Monitor pipeline performance, debugging issues with CloudWatch and optimizing query execution.
- 7Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver data sets for analytics and reporting.
- 8Document architecture and operational runbooks for the data platform.
Requirements6
- 17+ years in software development with Java, J2EE, Spring, and Hibernate.
- 27+ years hands-on experience with AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, API Gateway, Glue, and Athena.
- 3Proven track record in application modernization, including refactoring and migration projects.
- 4Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns and best practices.
- 5Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
- 6Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
