You will own maintenance and repair of electric autonomous vehicles, ensuring safety and reliability at scale in San Francisco. You'll diagnose issues, perform inspections, and document repairs in a specialized service platform. Working alongside AutoNation and our autonomous vehicle partner associates, you'll refine processes and expedite workflow. What You'll Do10

  • 1Perform maintenance, diagnosis, and required repairs on electric autonomous vehicles, focusing on EV systems and AV hardware.
  • 2Inspect and perform initial vehicle setup for autonomous fleet operation and testing, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • 3Collaborate with AutoNation and partner associates to improve processes and expedite workflow, using Service Platform documentation.
  • 4Document requested repairs and findings in a specialized service platform, maintaining accurate records for every vehicle.
  • 5Execute high-quality repairs and inspections, conducting multi-point inspections and system checks to guarantee fleet safety.
  • 6Provide guidance to technician team, communicating service and parts needs effectively to keep operations smooth.
  • 7Operate Service Center equipment safely, following OSHA guidelines and using personal protective equipment on the production floor.
  • 8Inspect and test all completed work as a Quality Control measure, ensuring each job meets AutoNation standards.
  • 9Maintain an inventory of technician tools not normally stocked, keeping essential equipment ready for daily tasks.
  • 10Stay current with technical information and attend training classes to master EV and AV repair techniques.

Requirements10

  • 1High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 22+ years automotive experience with hands-on repair and maintenance.
  • 3Electric Vehicle experience preferred, including EV battery and charging system familiarity.
  • 4Hybrid or EV training and experience a plus.
  • 5Automotive technical training from an accredited program.
  • 6Own tools required for daily diagnostics and repairs.
  • 7Valid in-state driver's license with acceptable, safe driving record.
  • 8Ability to operate an automobile safely for testing and inspections.
  • 9Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA and hazardous waste disposal.
  • 10Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose complex issues in electric and autonomous systems.
