What You'll Do6
- 1Diagnose engine, transmission, and electrical issues using OBD-II scanners and multimeters, then repair or replace faulty components.
- 2Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake pads, and tire rotations for 10+ vehicles daily, following manufacturer specs.
- 3Communicate with service advisors to explain needed repairs, costs, and timelines, ensuring customer approval before work starts.
- 4Test drive vehicles after repairs to verify performance and safety, adjusting as needed.
- 5Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following shop safety protocols and disposing of hazardous materials properly.
- 6Stay current on new automotive technologies by attending on-the-job training sessions and manufacturer webinars.
Requirements6
- 12+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- 2Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- 3Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for long periods.
- 4Familiarity with OBD-II diagnostic equipment and common repair tools.
- 5High school diploma or GED; ASE certification is a plus.
- 6Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
