- 1Lead automation projects for enclosure and module manufacturing, including machine design, vision systems, and controls.
- 2Partner with engineering and operations to identify automation opportunities and develop concepts and requirements.
- 3Assess cost and risk for automation initiatives and provide design-for-automation feedback to product design teams.
- 4Evaluate and select automation suppliers and equipment, driving technical reviews and validation.
- 5Design and debug PLC-based control systems and HMI interfaces for new automation cells.
- 6Integrate vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence) for inspection and alignment tasks.
- 7Drive the build and bring-up of automated assembly lines, resolving issues during ramp.
- 8Document automation designs and processes, ensuring knowledge transfer to operations.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of experience in automation engineering for manufacturing, with a focus on machine design and controls.
- 2Strong background in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI development.
- 3Hands-on experience with vision systems from Cognex, Keyence, or similar.
- 4Knowledge of robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB) and their integration in automated cells.
- 5Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for fixture and machine design.
- 6Experience with cost and risk analysis for automation projects, including ROI models.
- 7Excellent communication skills to partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
