What You'll Do8

  • 1Assess collision damage on each vehicle and write repair plans that cut cycle time by 20% in the first 90 days.
  • 2Weld and fabricate replacement panels using MIG welding and soldering, returning structural integrity to factory specs.
  • 3Spray base coat and clear coat with airless spray equipment, color-matching and blending to a seamless finish.
  • 4Replace windshields and side glass using precision auto glass installation techniques, ensuring leak-free seals.
  • 5Repair dents and straighten frames with hydraulic pullers and hand tools, holding tolerances to 2mm.
  • 6Fabricate custom sheet metal patches for classic cars, using English wheels and planishing hammers.
  • 7Maintain a clean bay and calibrate equipment weekly, cutting repair defects by 15%.
  • 8Document all labor and parts in the estimating system, keeping warranty claims under 5%.

Requirements9

  • 13-5 years of auto body repair experience in a dealership or independent shop.
  • 2Proficiency in MIG welding and fabrication, including soldering and sheet metal work.
  • 3Skilled with airless spray painting and color matching, with a portfolio of finished repairs.
  • 4Experience replacing auto glass and calibrating ADAS systems on modern vehicles.
  • 5Strong mechanical knowledge of suspension and alignment for post-repair alignment checks.
  • 6Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for full shifts, following all safety protocols.
  • 7Familiarity with estimating software like CCC ONE or Mitchell for damage documentation.
  • 8Valid driver's license and clean driving record for road tests after repairs.
