Associate Forward Deployed Engineer
Overview
MSIG USA seeks an Associate Forward Deployed Engineer to learn deployment lifecycles alongside senior engineers while owning small-to-medium deployments end to end and co-leading larger initiatives. Responsibilities include leading discovery sessions, designing Python services and AI workflows on Azure and Databricks, integrating with Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, and mentoring peers. What You'll Do11
- 1Lead discovery sessions for deployments and translate stakeholder input into clear problem statements
- 2Build production-grade solutions using Python services SQL pipelines and AI-assisted workflows on Azure and Databricks
- 3Integrate with MSIG USA data platform including Microsoft Fabric Databricks and OneLake
- 4Develop LLM-powered features such as RAG pipelines document extraction and automated workflows
- 5Own end-to-end deployment processes from infrastructure provisioning to incident management
- 6Stakeholder engagement through regular status reporting and decision presentations
- 7Create training materials and deliver enablement sessions independently
- 8Mentor Associate engineers and contribute reusable components to the team
- 9Architect maintainable solutions avoiding complexity that exceeds future team capacity
- 10Navigate corporate environment handling Proxies certificates and security policies
- 11Establish AI governance practices covering use case registration risk classification and validation evidence
Requirements13
- 1Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering Data Science Analytics Information Systems Applied Mathematics or related field
- 23-6 years professional experience combining software development and direct stakeholder interaction
- 3Production proficiency in Python and SQL with demonstrated impact on business outcomes
- 4At least one full end-to-end deployment demonstrating ownership and scalability
- 5Cloud experience particularly Azure with familiarity in identity access secrets management compute provisioning and monitoring
- 6Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- 7Genuine interest in insurance sector beyond technical challenges
- 8Hands-on experience with LLMs RAG architectures or AI agents like LangChain LlamaIndex Azure OpenAI
- 9Experience with Microsoft Fabric Databricks or Azure Data Lake in data engineering roles
- 10Familiarity with Power BI or similar tools beyond consumption
- 11Background in regulated industries such as insurance finance or healthcare
- 12Mentoring informal experience or formal coaching of junior colleagues
- 13Knowledge of AI governance concepts including model risk explainability and validation processes
