What You'll Do8
- 1Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in quantitative methods, including psychometrics, multilevel modeling, and Bayesian data analysis.
- 2Design and update syllabi, problem sets, and assessments for courses such as structural equation modeling and machine learning for psychologists.
- 3Consult 5-10 hours weekly with students, postdocs, and faculty on study design, data analysis, and statistical programming.
- 4Run 1-2 seminars per year on emerging methods like reproducible research, bootstrapping, and fMRI data analysis.
- 5Mentor students on quantitative projects, from introductory programming to meta-analysis, and guide them in applying mixed-effects models.
- 6Develop and disseminate open educational resources, R packages, or Python scripts for the psychology research community.
- 7Collaborate with faculty as a co-investigator on grants, contributing to study design and data analysis for studies using EEG, fNIRS, or computational modeling.
- 8Serve on departmental committees and contribute to methods training initiatives, including summer institutes or workshops.
Requirements8
- 1Ph.D. or equivalent international degree in Psychology, Statistics, or related field, or enrolled in such a program at time of application.
- 22+ years of experience teaching quantitative methods courses to graduate or undergraduate students, with documented teaching evaluations.
- 3Demonstrated expertise in multilevel modeling, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling.
- 4Hands-on experience with Bayesian data analysis and machine learning techniques for psychological data.
- 5Proficiency in R, Python, or Stan for statistical computing and reproducible research.
- 6Track record of scholarly activity, such as publications, software development, or presentations at professional conferences.
- 7Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for consulting and mentoring.
- 8Ability to design inclusive curricula that foster learning for all students, including those from underrepresented groups.
