Overview

You will own full-stack web and database application development for a federal government client in Northern Virginia, delivering across the entire software development life cycle. You will translate user requirements into end-to-end designs with multiple interfaces, program in Java, J2EE, JSP, HTML, XML, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, JavaScript, Apache Tomcat, and Git, and troubleshoot defects to keep systems running. The role offers advancement from entry-level to SME, with a clear path based on your experience. You will collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, plan work, and monitor progress to ensure on-time delivery. This is a contract position contingent upon award, with an anticipated start of September/October 2026 and a salary range of $120,000 to $250,000.

What You'll Do8

  • 1Build and maintain web and database applications using Java, J2EE, JSP, HTML, XML, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, JavaScript, Apache Tomcat, and Git across the full SDLC.
  • 2Translate user requirements into end-to-end application and database designs with multiple interfaces.
  • 3Program in project-relevant languages and frameworks, ensuring code quality and performance.
  • 4Debug and resolve defects in existing applications, applying Java and Spring fixes.
  • 5Document requirements, procedures, and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 6Communicate technical protocols and processes to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment.
  • 7Plan work, set goals, and monitor progress to deliver on schedule.
  • 8Design database schemas and queries using SQL and Hibernate to support application features.

Requirements6

  • 10-2 years of specialized experience for entry level, 2-4 years for journeyman, 4-6 years for full performance, 6-8 years for senior, or 8-12 years for SME.
  • 2Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • 3Relevant certifications in programming, development, cloud, infrastructure, architecture, or design (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Certified Developer).
  • 4Active TS/SCI clearance with FS Poly adjudicated within the last five years.
  • 5Proficiency with Java, J2EE, JSP, HTML, XML, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, JavaScript, Apache Tomcat, and Git.
  • 6Experience with full software development life cycle and web/database application design.
