AI Engineer, Java Springboot & Vertex.AI
Overview
You will own the design and deployment of AI-powered workflows on Java and Springboot, integrating Vertex.AI and n8n for a banking client. You will join a team of 5 engineers in Austin, Texas, collaborating with data scientists and product managers. This contract role requires 9+ years of experience and offers the chance to modernize legacy systems on AWS and Kubernetes. Unlike typical AI roles, you will drive end-to-end automation using Camunda for process orchestration.
What You'll Do8
- 1Build AI-driven automation workflows using Camunda, Java, and Springboot within the first 90 days.
- 2Integrate Vertex.AI and n8n to connect AI models with core banking systems.
- 3Design and deploy RESTful APIs to expose AI capabilities to internal teams.
- 4Scale microservices on AWS and Kubernetes using Docker for containerization.
- 5Debug production issues across Java services and AI pipelines, ensuring uptime.
- 6Collaborate with data engineers to optimize database queries for AI feature storage.
- 7Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards for Java and Springboot.
- 8Ship a proof-of-concept for a fraud detection workflow using Vertex.AI.
Requirements8
- 19+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on Java and Springboot.
- 25+ years building and integrating REST APIs in enterprise environments.
- 3Hands-on experience with Vertex.AI and n8n for workflow automation.
- 43+ years working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure.
- 5Strong understanding of Camunda for business process modeling.
- 6Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in a production setting.
- 7Ability to debug complex distributed systems and write unit tests.
- 8Excellent communication skills for client-facing discussions.
Salary Insight
$114 - $125k per year
